The Governor of Victoria Startup Awards are proudly supported by Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, Governor of Victoria, with winners celebrated and announced at Government House on Wednesday, 26 June 2024. The Scaleup of the Year Award recognises Acusensus’ outstanding accomplishments in 2023, including the successful listing on the Australian Securities Exchange and IPO capital raise in January 2023.

The CIHT Awards recognise Acusensus’s impactful work in the UK since 2022, marked by the initial trial of ‘Heads-Up’ in collaboration with National Highways and AECOM. Since then, Acusensus’s initiatives in the UK have experienced significant growth — by May 2024, ‘Heads-Up’ has been implemented at over 50 distinct locations. Acusensus takes pride in advancing the adoption of AI-based camera technology throughout the UK road network and is committed to furthering this important work in the region.

The prestigious awards, which have run for more than 30 years, are designed to give public recognition to those who have improved road safety, recognise outstanding achievement and innovation world-wide. The judges say that changing the behaviour of road users through education and enforcement are essential for improved safety.

Acusensus was bestowed the award for its ‘Heads-Up’ solution, which the judges said they were “especially impressed by the effectiveness of the technology and that it is now fully operational across several states in Australia”. The judges also noted the international pilots running in another four continents, including the United Kingdom.

Acusensus is honoured to be recognised on a global scale and this achievement is a testament to our team and partners working towards our mission to address road safety challenges.

Acusensus congratulates Founder and Managing Director Alexander Jannink who won two Young Entrepreneur Awards, in the Trailblazer and Technology categories. This national honour was preceded by the Melbourne-based awards earlier this month. The awards were hosted by Business News Australia Pty Ltd, where finalists gathered from around the nation to celebrate their achievements amongst fellow founders.

The Trailblazer Award recognises Alex’s leadership, which guided Acusensus to its exponential growth since the Company was founded in 2018. Alex also won the Technology award, which awards ‘inventing, servicing or developing solutions through sheer innovation.’

Australian Young Entrepreneur Awards founder Camilla Jansen says the annual award highlights the most innovative, tenacious and successful talent making an impact on business and society. The initiative searches the country far and wide to showcase game-changing winners to inspire other founders and recognise the many paths a founder’s journey can take.
